"Where I spent some of my birthday weekend. The Outpost campground in Fayetteville. The new owners who are redoing this property are amazing and customer service is impeccable. This is such a chill little spot in the heart of the New River Gorge National Park. It reminds me sooo much of going to "camp" growing up. and the vibe is perfect. feels like an escape and so serene. The little rustic cabins with a loft are so adorable. Definitely check out this place. The owner even texted me a couple hours ago to tell me Happy Birthday and to see if we needed anything"

"Great campground and service. The owner went above and beyond to assure we were properly set up and satisfied with our stay. Elevated tent pads kept the tent dry in the rain and wind. Bathrooms were freshly remodeled, clean and nicer than some of the hotels we stayed at later in the trip."

"We stumbled across this campground at the last minute and chose to stay an extra day because it's so relaxing and beautiful. Ross the owner showed us in at 10:30 pm due to a delay in our arrival time with a handshake, a smile and a "Welcome to The Outpost". The staff here goes out of their way to make sure you feel comfortable and welcome. My favorite thing about The Outpost are the luxury bathroom and shower facilities. Huge thanks To Ross and his staff for making our stay one of the best camping experiences we've had so far. We'll definitely try to make it back again in the future!"

"Location, location, location. You could probably say this place is in the national park. There is a trail entrance right across the street. Super clean facility. Bath house is very clean and above the typical camp ground standards. A destination worth traveling to."

"We LOVED our time at The Outpost! We were treated like family from the moment we stepped on the property. We arrived to find that the owner had started a fire for us in our fire pit due to us arriving late. He also helped load all of our gear into a 4X4 and drove us to our tent platform at the top of the property. If you are tent camping, I highly recommend this option, it kept us and our tent dry no matter what the weather. Our site had a very nice fire pit and picnic table. We were secluded but able to access amenities easily. They delivered wood to site for only $6.00 and checked on us daily. They also let us tour the refurbished cabins which are another great option. The bath house was the nicest we have seen and we have traveled and camped extensively! We WILL return next season!!"

"The Outpost is something special! Beautiful grounds, trailhead to New River Bridge and downtown historic Fayetteville is literally right next to it. By far the friendliest staff you've met. The owner Ross will go above and beyond to make sure your experience at the Outpost is the best. I'm going cross country on my trip and this place will be engrained forever!!!"

"If you're ever near Fayetteville, West Virginia and are looking for a super amazing place to camp PLEASE check out The Outpost at The New River Gorge - "Where Wild Meets Wonderful"! Seriously y'all, John Paul and I were so lucky to find this place. They just opened recently and it is SO NICE! We had a sweet platform to set the tent up on which is covered by a tin roof, plus we had our own private fire pit and picnic table. The property is gorgeous, the shower house is out of this world (seriously, granite counter tops and rainfall shower heads - it was the best shower I've ever had camping) and they even have cute cabins and RV hookups! Not to mention the staff is incredibly nice. Ross, the owner, was so accommodating and made us feel right at home! I'm never staying anywhere else when I'm in WV, that's for sure! Good for backpackers"

"This place just opened Oct 1. We stayed there Oct 23-26. Driveway was a little steep to come up and down with the trailer but totally doable. The owner, Ross met us as soon as we came down the drive and helped us back in. The newest part of the campground was a little tight but you didn't even notice because you are surrounded by so much nature and beauty! We had water/electric at our site. Bathroom was close by and beautifully decorated with good water pressure and hot water. The cabins are small and adorable. Great little area for tent campers too. The owner is going to expand the number of RV lots and has a band play often. He also plans on having festivals from time to time, which will be great! The Bridge trailhead was right across the street and blends in to a couple others if you want to go further. Bring your poles as the first section was a little challenging with tree roots and rocks. Located 10 min from the National Park Visitors center and from white water rafting outfitters. Super cool location that will get better and better over the next several months! We are excited to come back!"
